OpenWithGuard checks for compatible releases after startup and again while the app is running. A failed check does not interrupt protection.

The app handles the download in the background and waits for you before installing anything.
Step two
The installer downloads in the background.
When a compatible release is available, OpenWithGuard prepares it without opening a separate update window.
Step three
You choose when to install.
Once the download is ready, a download icon appears beside the installed version in the sidebar. Select it when you are ready to install.
