OpenWithGuard puts file and browser associations in one place, so you can protect a choice and change it later without digging through Windows settings.
What you can manage
Every protected choice remains visible, reversible, and removable.
Choose Images, Archives, Audio, Video, PDF, Word, Spreadsheets, Presentations, Web pages, CAD drawings, 3D models, or E-books, then click one Windows application. Each category's common formats are protected immediately, without asking you to edit extension lists.
Keep HTTP and HTTPS links routed to the browser you selected.
Review each category or single-extension item, then pause, enable, or remove it from one screen. An exact custom extension takes priority over a category when both are active.
Optionally watch for repeated file-icon changes made by other software.
The app may check update metadata automatically. It does not download in the background: your first click downloads and verifies, and your next click starts installation.

Guest accounts can use 1 active protection item without browser protection. Signed-in Free accounts can use 3 active protection items and browser protection. Every paid plan includes unlimited active protection items, browser protection, and future product updates. Each category or single extension is one protection item; browser protection is separate.

Buying another recurring plan keeps all previously purchased access time and adds the new plan's full duration after it. The newly purchased plan becomes the next renewal cycle; the previous recurring plan is set not to renew.
Monthly, quarterly, and yearly plans renew automatically until canceled. Turning off renewal prevents the next charge, and access continues through the paid billing period. Lifetime is a one-time purchase.

How it works
Pick Images, Archives, Audio, Video, PDF, Word, Spreadsheets, Presentations, Web pages, CAD drawings, 3D models, or E-books. The app already knows each category's common extensions.
The selected app applies to the category immediately; there is no separate Save step.
Use Advanced for a format such as .abc. It uses one protection-item slot, even if it overlaps a category.
Stored locally
OpenWithGuard does not upload file contents to provide protection. Account identity and deliberately limited product analytics are documented separately.
